Matrix One

The challenge

A link that exists is not a link that holds

Traceability and gap detection is where most teams start with AI, because the manual version of the job costs the most hours.

  • Gaps hide in large projects.Finding every requirement without a test, or every risk without a mitigation, means configuring reports and reading them line by line.
  • A link is not proof.A test can be linked to a requirement it does not really verify, and a coverage report still counts it.
  • Fixing is a second job.Once a gap is found, somebody still has to work out what should fill it and make the change.

Our solution

Traceability checked, not just counted

The Traceability Checker works on the live project in Matrix Req and hands every decision back to a person.

  • It finds missing links.Every item that should be traced and is not.
  • It judges existing links. It assesses whether each link really holds, not only whether it exists.
  • It suggests the fix.For each finding, it suggests what should fill the gap.
  • Matrix Mind proposes the change.Open a finding in Matrix Mind, which proposes the fix as a redline that a person approves.

Capabilities

How it works

From the gap to the fix, with a person in charge of every change.

Gap Detection

Finds missing links across requirements, risks, design and tests.

Link Assessment

Judges whether existing links really hold, so the coverage you report is coverage you can defend.

Suggested Fixes

Suggests what should fill each gap, and hands it to Matrix Mind to propose the change for your review.

Findings You Manage

Dismiss, solve or re-check each finding, and get notified when a long analysis is done.

FAQ

Does the Traceability Checker change our project?

Not on its own. It reports findings. When you open a finding in Matrix Mind, the fix is shown as a redline, applied only when a person approves it, done with that person's permissions, and can be undone.

How is it different from the Compliance Checker?

The Compliance Checker assesses your project against a standard you import. The Traceability Checker assesses the links inside your project. Both hand their findings to Matrix Mind, which proposes a fix for your review.

Which version of Matrix Req do we need?

The Traceability Checker ships with Matrix Req 3.1.

Is our data used to train AI models?

No. We do not train or fine-tune any model on your data. Every AI provider we use (Anthropic, Google Gemini, AWS Bedrock) is bound by a zero data retention agreement. Your data is processed only to answer your request, is never stored by the provider, and is never used to train a model.
